Special thanks to my daughter for helping me with this (there may have been a bribe involved). Please review these techniques prior to labor and let us know if you have any questions!
I will try to add more as I am able to film them, but these are the biggies.
Prenatal Comfort and Positioning Techniques
The next three techniques are called the Three Sisters, and are very useful during pregnancy and very early labor for balance, and to get things moving again during an active labor stall (when dilation stays the same for several hours at 7 cm or more).
Rebozo Sifting
Use prenatally and during early labor for balance and during active labor for help in positional changes for baby. If you use during labor, only sift BETWEEN contractions.
Side-Lying Release
Use prenatally and during early labor for balance, and with the help of the nurse if labor stalls. During a labor stall, this technique must be used through 3 contractions on each side to be really effective.
Forward-Leaning Inversion
Use prenatally to release the round ligaments, during early labor for balance, and during active labor during a stall. During a labor stall, this technique must be used through 3 contractions on each side to be really effective.
Comfort Measures for Labor
The next videos are techniques for relaxation and comfort during and between contracts, along with a simple technique to progress if labor slows or stalls.
